Moishe's Bagel
(Klezmer) Edinburgh
12:30 - 12:50

Amazing piano and keyboardist Phil Alexander - who first learned klezmer with Gregori Schechter in London, moved to Edinburgh and in 2003 set up a rip-roaring, foot-stomping, jazz-inflected klezmer and Balkan band together with fabulous Scottish fiddler Greg Lawson, Pete Garnett accordion, Mario Caribe bass and Guy Nicholson percussion.

They perform an electrifying set of klezmer, folk dance and Eastern European jazzy music, with dazzling technique, exciting improvisation and humour.

They have featured on Radio 3's Late Junction, performed live sessions for Radio Scotland and RTE and have just released their second album Salt. (Hear them again on Wednesday 28 November at the Arts depot in Barnet).
